Great to see your page up and running. We have been thinking of booking a return visit.
To all those who haven't visited and are wondering, this is a gorgeous location, quiet, restful, delightful with a very well appointed inviting and warm guest room, with parking and separate private entrance. The hosts, John and Jen, can’t do enough to help you get acquainted with the property and area, and the breakfast, well amazing, wonderful.
Close to Axedale for great meals at the pub and only minutes to Bendigo. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the hospitality and walks by the river.

Kangaroos at River Gardens Axedale. | What a wonderful place to getaway, just sooo relaxing as. Everything you see is the best. The hosts the best there are, thank you.
Axedale (near Bendigo) a beautiful country area. And wow! The pub as one guest said "it’s not a cook, it’s a chef". Food fantastic.

| Wow, what an awesome place to stay. Just spent the weekend at River Gardens and would definitely go back again. A beautiful place to stay. Gorgeous setup of the room. John & Jen are just the most wonderful people. Nothing was too much trouble. Great advice on things to do in the area. So friendly, happy & helpful. If you get the chance to visit River Gardens, my advice would be .... Dont miss out!!

Tandem bike ridden on the O'Keefe Rail Trail from Axedale to Bendigo. | Thankyou for a lovely quiet break away with beautiful views, mouth watering breakfast and a location were we could enjoy our tandem bike on the close by rail trail and fishing in the river on your property. | Thanks to both John and Jen, absolutely fantastic hospitality and beautiful accommodation. Would come back in a heartbeat. Close enough to Bendigo and surrounds to travel in but far enough out to enjoy the gorgeous river and surrounds.

Leonard the rescued wood duck. | Our stay at River Gardens was so relaxing for us and we wished we could have stayed longer.
The warm and friendly welcome by hosts John and Jennifer made us feel so comfortable.
Our room was so fresh and modern with a comfy bed and fabulous ensuite. Everything you could think of was supplied. And nothing was too much trouble for John and Jennifer. We needed a shower chair... no problems, they had one on hand!
Breakfast was beautifully served and so delicious.
River Gardens is such a peaceful place, we enjoyed sitting out on the verandah listening to all the wildlife and the goats calling their mummas. Everything is so new, clean and no detail is over looked. The DVD collection is rather impressive!
We highly recommend River Gardens for a quiet, private stay. We will definitely be returning. Thank you John and Jennifer so very much! - Carole and Darell
