River Gardens is located in the Central Victoria wine region just off the McIvor Highway and only minutes from Bendigo, Heathcote, Lake Eppalock, Toolleen and Elmore.
 

River Gardens offers a luxury Bed and Breakfast Farm Stay on the banks of the Campaspe River. The accommodation is surrounded by 133 acres of farmland, which is home to a variety of farm animals including goats, sheep, guineafowl, ducks, working dogs and much more. • River Gardens Axedale is completely off-grid. 
• We generate our own power from a bank of solar panels on the roof. We store that power in a battery bank for night use. We do have a back-up generator for emergencies.
• Drinking, cooking and shower water is collected from the roof and stored in three 33,000 litre tanks. 
• The toilets use clean dam water.
• Gardens are watered from the river and dams using a stand-alone solar powered floating Mono pump.
• The main area's of the house are heated by a Coonara Wood Fire.  
• There are also an electric split systems which are used to heat and cool certain area's of the house. 

• Bendigo is just a 20 minute drive west of River Gardens. Bendigo offers excellent shopping and award winning tourism venues.
• Heathcote is just a 20 minute drive south-east of River Gardens which offers boutique shopping as well as Gaffney’s Bakery and Pie Kitchen, which was awarded the best regional bakery in 2021. 
• River Gardens is less than a 20 minute drive to cellar doors, boutique wineries, and vineyards of Axedale, Eppalock, Mandurang, Toolleen, Redesdale, Mount Camel and Heathcote.
• River Gardens is situated on the Campaspe River. We invite you to watch the magnificent sunsets over the Campaspe River whilst drinking local Heathcote wines.
